Reporters Without Borders covered this.

"Israel, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iran, which are the world's largest prisons for journalists, continued their attacks against media workers and made arrests in 2023," the report said.

According to journalism indicators, Iran is ranked 176th out of 180 countries, alongside North Korea, Afghanistan, Syria, and Eritrea.

This country is considered the second largest prison of journalists in the world after China in terms of the number of journalists imprisoned and the number of media representatives currently in prison.

It is worth noting that Norway ranks first in terms of free speech and media, followed by Denmark and Sweden.
