Bread become more expensive in Tabriz again

On the eve of the spring holiday, the prices of various types of bread have increased in most bakers of Tabriz.

The decision made by the officials to increase the price of bread without prior warning was met with dissatisfaction.

Local social media users called it "a holiday gift from the authorities to the people of Tabriz.".

After the dissatisfaction increased due to the prices of bread, the clashes between citizens and bakers flared up. The Iranian media also published news on this issue.

The state media tried to describe the increase in prices as the decision of the provincial officials.

Local officials have not made a statement about the price increase.

It should be noted that in 2023, the price of bread in 14 provinces of Iran increased by 40%.

In response to the protests that took place after that, Ebrahim Raisi promised that the prices would not increase again, but he didn’t keep his promise.

The Minister of Economy and Financial Affairs of Iran, Ehsan Khandouzi, said that the increase in prices was implemented with the proposal of provincial officials and the approval of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
