China disappointed Iran again

"The People's Republic of China has a stable position on the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb, which it intends to maintain. Beijing encourages Iran and the UAE to resolve their differences through dialogue and consultation."

Mao Ning, the spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gave this statement.

Ning's statement came after the People's Republic of China ambassador in Teran called on Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 3.

Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs protested the Chinese government's support for the United Arab Emirates' claims to the three Gulf islands and urged Beijing to reconsider its position on the issue, citing Iran's strategic ally status.

It should be noted that a few days ago, paragraph 26 of the final statement of the joint meeting of the People's Republic of China and the United Arab Emirates emphasized that the UAE owns the three islands currently under Iranian control.

Before that, another Iranian ally issued a statement claiming that the Gulf islands mentioned in Russia belong to the United Arab Emirates.
