90 workers lost their lives in the past 11 months due to not following standard safety rules in East Azerbaijan Province.
Mehrdad Sitara, the Director of the General Department of Forensic Medical Expertise of the province, informed about this in an interview.
"The number of people who died as a result of work accidents in East Azerbaijan increased to 90 people in the last 11 months, while it was 70 people in 2022." said the general director.
According to statistics, the number of people who died as a result of work accidents increased by 29%. This indicates that the standards for the protection of workers' lives during work are not applied sufficiently.
This statistic is only about labor accidents in East Azerbaijan province.
It should be noted that Alihossein Rariyati Fard, the Deputy of the Department for Labor Affairs of the Ministry of Cooperatives, Labor and Social Welfare, claimed that the statistics of deaths from work accidents in Iran is lower than the average statistics of the world.
