In the statement of the organization, it was noted that the authorities used the death penalty as a form of political repression, and condemned the increase in the number of drug executions.

In a new research report published on April 4, titled "Don't Let Them Kill US" it is reported: "International measures should be taken without hesitation to prevent the terrible increase in the number of executions in Iranian prisons, which have been turned into places of mass murder."

In the report, it was emphasized that there were brutal executions in the 2022 "Women, Life, Freedom" movement.

Diana Eltahawy, Deputy Director of the Middle East and North Africa Bureau at Amnesty International, expressed her opinion on the execution.

“The death penalty is abhorrent in all circumstances but deploying it on a mass scale for drug-related offences after grossly unfair trials before Revolutionary Courts is a grotesque abuse of power.”

The organization's statement also condemned the execution of juvenile offenders.

It should be noted that in Iran, those who commit crimes under the age of majority are detained and executed after reaching the age of majority.
